Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a call from Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly during which they discussed the situation in Lebanon and regional developments. There was an emphasis on the necessity of halting escalation, resorting to peaceful solutions, and implementing international resolutions, particularly Resolutions 1701. The Prime Minister held a series of meetings and consultations at the Grand Serail today. In this context, Mikati welcomed the Slovak Ambassador Marek Varga in Lebanon for a farewell visit. He also met with Lebanon's Ambassador to Switzerland, Rola Nour Eldin.
The Prime Minister met with Minister of Agriculture Abbas al-Haj Hassan, who stated, "I briefed the Prime Minister on the conditions in the agricultural sector and the problems it faces, in addition to the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to keep up with ongoing security developments and to prepare for any potential escalations, especially since we are currently working within the emergency plan established by the Lebanese government in this regard." He also informed the Prime Minister about Lebanon's participation in the inauguration ceremony of the Iranian president.
Mikati received MP Nasser Haidar, with whom he discussed general conditions. He also welcomed Beirut's Municipal Governor Marwan Aboud, Mayor Abdullah Darwish, and Dean of the Union of Beirut Family Associations Mohammed Al-Amin Aytani to discuss the living and developmental conditions in the capital, particularly regarding the electricity, water, and public cleanliness crisis in Beirut. The discussion included collaboration to establish a headquarters for the Union of Beirut Families. Additionally, Mikati met with former Minister Rashid Derbas to review the general situation.
