The Kurdish television channel Rudaw reported that Turkish Energy Minister Alperen Berker arrived in Erbil today, Thursday, the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq. Berker is set to join a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Government, Masrour Barzani, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is on an official visit to Iraq. Sources told Reuters that Iraqi Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani visited Ankara this week and he and his Turkish counterpart failed to reach an agreement to resume oil exports from northern Iraq, which Turkey halted on March 25, although both sides agreed to hold further talks.
