"Iraqi Factions" Enter Phase of "Open Scenarios": All US Interests in the Area are Threatened

Following the targeting of Iraqi security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Sakhr, Babel Governorate, Member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Hussein Al-Amiri, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Iraqi resistance factions have entered a phase of open scenarios. Al-Amiri stated that "the targeting of a location affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Sakhr and the recent deaths and injuries represent a crime and a blatant violation of national sovereignty, reflecting Washington's desire to stir tensions."

He added, "The armed resistance factions will be faced with open scenarios regarding ways to respond to American aggression, and the intensity of confrontations may escalate if America continues to target more locations of the Popular Mobilization Forces." He continued, "All American interests in the region are threatened if it seeks an open war with the resistance factions, especially since its attack on the Popular Mobilization Forces indicates a premeditated intent to destabilize security and stability."

He pointed out that "any open war in the region means significant depletion for Washington and a threat to its interests throughout the Middle East." He further stated, "Diplomatic missions are far from any confrontations and are outside the list of targets, as the resistance aims at camps and bases that represent supply lines for the Zionist entity in its genocide against the Palestinian people."

In turn, the Kurdistan Democratic Party commented on the US bombing of Popular Mobilization Forces locations, stating, "It was expected," while pointing to "the only solution" to this crisis. Party member Wafa Muhammad Karim said, "The American bombing was expected due to the repeated targeting of military bases in Iraq and Syria by the factions." He added that "the presence of American military bases is part of an agreement signed with the Iraqi government, thus targeting them is an embarrassment for the Prime Minister," indicating that "the only solution to this crisis is for all factions to submit to the Prime Minister's orders as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and to cease targeting military bases entirely."

On Wednesday, hundreds of supporters of the Popular Mobilization Forces attended the funeral of those who fell due to the American bombing in Jurf al-Sakhr, Babel Governorate, with the attendance of Chief of Staff Abu Fadak al-Muhandis and the head of the authority, Faleh Al-Fayyad. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein informed the American Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, of his rejection of the recent escalation in the country following the American bombing of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Sakhr, north of Babel.
