The Tripoli Municipality, represented by the committee tasked with the inspection and removal of violations and encroachments, along with the municipal police, launched a campaign on Street 32 of the Al-Diah area, supported by security forces from the Internal Security Forces and the Army. This action is based on municipal laws and the residents' desire to eliminate violations, especially as the city hosts various events as part of Tripoli being the Capital of Arab Culture for the year 2024. The initiative was also directed by Mayor Dr. Riyad Yamak.
Starting in the morning, the committee comprised of employees and engineers, with support from the municipal police and the Bab al-Raml precinct and Tripoli Intelligence Office, issued warnings and inspected all violations along Ashir Al-Diah Street 32, including businesses and shops located there. Violation reports and warnings were issued to offenders, and obstacles blocking roads and shops were removed. The committee also verified the compliance of restaurants and establishments with public regulations, particularly concerning foreign labor and work permits.
Simultaneously, health inspections were conducted on restaurants and cafes, and violators were given the legal timeframe to rectify their situations. Mayor Yamak confirmed that "the campaign started from Al-Diah and will cover various areas, markets, and neighborhoods," urging "all violators and encroachers on private or public properties to remove their violations before the campaign reaches them and confiscations take place." He expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Internal Security Forces and Army Intelligence, who support the campaign.
