Days after a killer described by US authorities as "extremely dangerous" escaped from a prison in Pennsylvania, officials released the bizarre method of his escape. State forces reported that Danilo Souza Cavalcante (34 years old), who was serving a life sentence for murdering his ex-girlfriend, escaped from Chester County Prison a week ago.
On Thursday, the Chester County Police released a video from inside the prison, showing Cavalcante's unusual moment of escape.

Since his escape, the killer has been spotted at least four times within a mile radius of the Borough of Pocopson, with local police responding to over 100 reports from residents. Pennsylvania State Police mentioned that they brought in more technology and personnel to assist in the hunt, including broadcasting a recording of his mother urging him to surrender peacefully from a helicopter scanning the area.
Cavalcante was convicted on August 16 for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death, delivering 38 fatal blows to Deborah Brandao in front of her young children in 2021.
