Member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, announced during the funeral of Hezbollah member Hussein Ali Bajouq in the town of Aita al-Shab: "From the grounds of Aita al-Shab, where we commemorated the martyrs of 2006, we lay to rest today, amidst the sounds of shells, a new martyr who also fell on the front line of confrontation with the Israeli enemy." He indicated that "the symbolism of Aita al-Shab is clear; it was the gateway to the war in 2006, from where it began, and the town remained steadfast until the very last days when we came here to raise the banner of victory. God willing, from Aita al-Shab, the town of confrontation, challenge, and steadfastness, we will once again raise the banner of victory with the blood of these martyrs."
He noted that "these martyrs whom we bid farewell today, as we did in the villages and towns across our country, fell on the front lines in a battle unlike the July War or those of 1993 or 1996, and we cannot compare it to any other battle. This martyr, who we come to Aita to bid farewell, was fighting on the front lines with his rockets, bullets, and shells. Our fighters are martyred in their positions on the borders and in the field; they are not killed in their homes or on the roads but on the front lines of a fierce and intense battle, where the enemy is deploying its aircraft, missiles, and artillery, while it hides behind the borders. This has never happened in the history of the conflict with the Israeli enemy; today we are fighting him right on the borders, while he hides throughout this confrontation from Naqoura to the Shebaa hills."
He stated, "Yes, we are making sacrifices, and these are the most precious youths. However, these young men are defending Lebanon and the nation today, and they are victorious for Gaza and Jerusalem. These are martyrs on the path to Jerusalem, present in every village and town, raised on hands, with fists, hearts, and all this enthusiasm. This people here affirms that these martyrs ascended on the path of righteousness and the defense of our country."
He added, "It is true that it is a fierce and intense battle, but we in the resistance are committed to it, God willing, and no matter what the sacrifices are, we have no option in Lebanon but to fight this enemy, which may attack our country at any moment when the opportunity arises, and it may come here to repeat what it did in the sixties, seventies, and eighties."
He continued, "The initiative today is in the hands of the resistance and the fighters who take the initiative and fire bullets and rockets at the hiding enemy positions. This scene today in 2023 is unlike what we have been accustomed to, as the enemy hides and conceals much of its losses, while we take pride in our martyrs, announce them, and elevate them on our hands, bidding them farewell even at the borders, with people coming with enthusiasm and challenge, undeterred by the enemy's shells or its nearby positions."
He concluded: "From Aita al-Shab, we affirm to the people of Gaza that with your steadfastness and sacrifices, just as we have won here, you will achieve victory."
