Kuwaiti media figure Fajer Al-Saeed accused Lebanese star Maged Bou Ghosn, her husband producer Jamal Sinan, and other Lebanese producers of poorly portraying and marketing Gulf drama. The talk show host criticized the famous Lebanese duo and the Lebanese producers, asserting that they lack talent in producing Gulf drama and have contributed to the decline of Gulf productions.
Fajer Al-Saeed tweeted on her personal account: “The poor performance of Lebanese Maged Bou Ghosn in acting equals the poor production of her husband in Gulf drama. Stay away from us.” She continued: “The Lebanese producers before him from the brand of Amir Al-Sabah, and his cousins who don’t talk to him (pointing out producer Sadiq Al-Sabah), and the team working with him have dragged Gulf drama into the mud after it used to be among the most important Arab dramas and was followed by the entire Arab world.”
Fajer emphasized that Gulf drama can rise and continue without Lebanese producers, noting that Lebanese drama makers only work in Gulf drama for money. She wrote: “Stay away from us and stick to producing Lebanese series because Gulf drama is capable of rising on its own far from you. Don’t forget that your production in Gulf drama is only bought by the Gulf channels that you have arranged things with; you work to gather money while we work to elevate our drama (referring to “our drama”).”
As a result, Kuwaiti media figure Fajer Al-Saeed faced severe backlash from users on the X platform following her criticism of Maged Bou Ghosn's performance and the work of Lebanese producers. Followers noted that she seems desperate to grab attention, while others pointed out the importance of Lebanese producers and their role in uplifting Gulf drama and Gulf Arab stars.
