Israel Opens Its Embassy in Bahrain (Photos + Video)

The Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, along with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen, announced the opening of the new headquarters of the State of Israel's embassy in the kingdom. Cohen expressed his happiness at visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time, affirming that "the opening of the embassy reflects the interest of both countries in advancing their bilateral relations towards broader horizons after three years since signing the Abraham Accords, which contributed to ushering the Middle East into a new era of prosperity, peace, and stability." He indicated that this offers an opportunity to continue working on promoting the common goals of the two countries, which include diversity, cooperation, tolerance, and stability. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the efforts made by the Israeli Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Eitan Naeh, in preparing for today's embassy opening, emphasizing the importance of "continuing to enhance relations between the two sides in various fields such as security, trade, culture, and more, for the benefit of both countries."

For his part, the Bahraini Foreign Minister expressed his happiness in participating in the official opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the State of Israel's embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, considering it "an important event that symbolizes the mutual commitment to strengthen and develop bilateral relations that serve common interests and contribute to spreading peace, security, and prosperity for all the peoples of the region." He confirmed that "the Kingdom of Bahrain has been and remains a beacon of tolerance, promoting human coexistence and mutual respect, and firmly believes in the power of dialogue and understanding to pave the way for a brighter future." He noted that "Cohen's visit marks the opening of a significant landmark in the growing relationship between the two countries and our joint determination to enhance harmony and cooperation."

Al Zayani emphasized "the importance of deepening diplomatic efforts and developing bilateral cooperation across various sectors," explaining that "the establishment of this new embassy plays a pivotal role in our collaborative efforts to achieve the goals outlined in the Declaration of Support for Peace, the Abraham Accords, the Negev Forum, and working tirelessly to improve our mutual interests." Eli Cohen arrived in Bahrain leading a delegation for a two-day visit, where he was welcomed at Bahrain International Airport by Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Foreign Minister, alongside Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Khalid Yousef Al Jalhamah, Bahrain's Ambassador to Israel, Eitan Naeh, Israel's Ambassador to Bahrain, and several senior officials from the Foreign Ministry.
