Electricity of Lebanon: Adding About 200 Megawatts at the Zahrani Plant

"Electricity of Lebanon" announced in a statement that it has, through precautionary measures taken during the past quarter, managed to provide and store a quantity of fuel oil to cover a minimum of the increasing demand during the peak season. Concurrently, it has reallocated some available financial resources to conduct essential maintenance on some production units. Therefore, the institution commenced, starting from the peak night of Friday, 07/06/2024, the operation of an additional gas unit at the Zahrani plant with an additional production capacity of approximately 200 megawatts. This is aimed at maintaining the stability and stability of the electrical network, allowing for a daily supply rate of 4 to 6 hours across various regions of Lebanon, as well as ensuring continuous supply to essential facilities in Lebanon (airport, port, water pumps, sewage, Lebanese University, courthouses, prisons, and other essential facilities...) around the clock, 24/7, to ensure the continuity of the Lebanese administration's operations and the economic activity in the country. Accordingly, "Electricity of Lebanon" will keep all citizens informed of any updates regarding electricity supply through subsequent statements on this matter.
