Hannibal Gaddafi Requests Judiciary to Question Wiam Wahhab

Hannibal Gaddafi, who is imprisoned in Lebanon, has urged the Lebanese judiciary to take the testimony of former Lebanese Minister Wiam Wahhab regarding the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr in 1978. The son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi stated that his request "constitutes an official report to the Lebanese investigative judge." He told Sputnik through a close source, on Tuesday: "I urge the Lebanese judiciary to consider any information that could help uncover the truth regarding the disappeared Imam Musa al-Sadr."

He clarified that "former Minister Wiam Wahhab mentioned in a television interview on Al-Ghad channel that he has information about the fate of the disappeared Imam Musa al-Sadr, which the late Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi had shared with him during a previous meeting." Hannibal Gaddafi expressed hope that "the investigation would take a serious turn and that no information related to the case would be neglected, especially from those who have publicly stated that they possess information, as did Minister Wahhab, noting that Wahhab had previously made statements calling for the judiciary to release Gaddafi."

Furthermore, he expressed "his disappointment with the admirers of Imam Musa al-Sadr, his family, and the Amal Movement who are waiting to know the truth, for not taking the former Minister Wiam Wahhab's remarks seriously, while he has been imprisoned for ten years merely for being suspected of having information about the case." He confirmed that he "holds no information about the fate of al-Sadr and that he is imprisoned in a case unrelated to him, especially since he was only three years old at the time of the incident."
