The Army Command – Directorate of Guidance, reported that "as part of the security measures taken by the military institution to combat human smuggling by sea, two intelligence directorate patrols, supported by a unit from the army, arrested 204 Syrians while attempting to travel illegally by sea as follows: a raid at the home of citizen (M.A.) in the town of Bbnin - North, leading to the arrest of 54 Syrians; the arrest of 150 Syrians at the beach area of Al-Areedah. Additionally, the naval forces, along with a unit from the army, arrested 5 Lebanese, 26 Syrians, and 2 Palestinians who were on two boats off the shore of the Al-Qulayaat area - North, while trying to travel illegally by sea. Investigations with the detainees have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
