Brutal Crime in Habou - Information Branch Reveals Details

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division revealed that on September 6, 2023, in the area of Habou, the bodies of (M.A., born in 2001, Syrian) and his wife (Z.H., born in 2003, Syrian) were found, lifeless and bleeding, due to being stabbed and slashed in their place of residence. Immediately, the specialized security forces were tasked with examining the crime scene and making efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding it.

As a result of intensive follow-up, the Information Branch identified one of the individuals involved in the murder within less than 48 hours, namely: N.N. (born in 1980, Syrian).

On September 9, 2023, after careful surveillance, one of the patrols of the branch managed to arrest him at his home in the Al-Jnah area. During the investigation, he confessed to his involvement in the murder of (M.A.) and his wife in Habou, as requested by (A.H., born in 1978, Syrian), who had come from Syria to Lebanon about a month before the crime and stayed at his home. He informed him that the victims had killed his brother in Syria and fled to Lebanon and that he intended to take revenge on them, asking for help in exchange for a substantial sum of money.

During the latter's stay at his home, they gathered information about the victims with the help of (R.D., born in 1999, Syrian). After conducting a reconnaissance of the probable locations where the victims were residing, and confirming their residence in the mentioned town, (A.H.) contacted his brothers in Syria, H.H. (born in 1999, Syrian) and L.H. (approximately 20 years old, Syrian), asking them to come in order to execute the crime. He also purchased two knives from the Sabra area to be used in the crime.

On September 5, 2023, (A.H.)'s brothers arrived in Lebanon early in the morning, and that evening, they traveled with (A.H.) in a taxi to Habou. Upon arrival, they got out of the car and headed to the victims' home, while (A.H.) waited inside the car parked away from the crime scene. Upon entering the house, the two brothers stabbed the victims to death and fled on foot until they reached Byblos, where they re-boarded the taxi they had taken to Lebanon and headed to Beirut.

The next day, (A.H.) and his brothers escaped to Syria through illegal crossings. A patrol of the branch arrested (R.D.) in the Nabatiyeh area, and during the investigation, he confessed to the accusations against him. Legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority based on judicial instructions. Search and investigation notices were issued for the remaining suspects.
