Luna al-Shibl's name has been prominent in Syrian discussions over the past couple of days, and even in Arab and international media. Following the announcement from the presidency in Syria about the advisor to President Bashar al-Assad being involved in a serious car accident, speculations about her fate began to arise. Her media role has been recalled, especially since she has held the position of "Special Advisor to the Presidency" since November 2020, and it is said that she possesses special authorities and holds the title of "Second Lady."
The website "Waradana" obtained an old video showing al-Shibl intervening to try and disperse a crowd of attendees and journalists who had approached President Assad's wife, attempting to separate them from her, but no one paid attention to her.
Notably, she was addressing the famous Syrian journalist Shadi Halawa, who was among the crowd trying to take photos and speak with the First Lady. While al-Shibl was giving her instructions from a distance, raising her voice, Halawa and others continued taking photos and talking.
**Car Accident and Serious Condition**
Information continues to emerge about the health of President Bashar al-Assad's advisor, Luna al-Shibl, after she was involved in a serious car accident last Tuesday, leading to her hospitalization in critical condition. A Syrian medical source indicated that al-Shibl is recovering and that the bleeding has stopped, but she needs intensive medical care.
The political and media office of the presidency stated to the SANA agency that special advisor Luna al-Shibl was involved in a car accident on one of the roads leading to the city of Damascus on Tuesday afternoon. The office added in its clarification that the accident caused the vehicle carrying her to veer off course, confirming that she sustained multiple traumas that resulted in severe injuries, which led to her transfer to "Al-Shami" Hospital, one of the most famous hospitals in Damascus.
