A shell exploded during tests at the state-owned "Terem" weapons factory in the village of Kostenets, Bulgaria, on Wednesday, according to media reports. The "Nova" television channel stated that the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, causing significant material damage but no injuries, and confirmed by the Kostenets municipality. According to the Ministry of Interior, the damage affected a security wall and the roof of the factory. Although the explosion did not lead to a fire, firefighting teams sprayed the area with water to prevent further explosions, and all workers were evacuated from the site while waiting for military intelligence personnel to arrive. The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense confirmed the occurrence of the explosion, explaining that it was due to an industrial accident during the handling of munitions. The "Terem" factory specializes in the production of military and civilian goods, including munitions, fireworks products, weapon repairs, ammunition disposal, and the production of explosives for civil purposes and similar activities.
