The Israeli army announced the destruction of a tunnel in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, measuring 1.5 kilometers, confirming it was used by Hamas to store weapons. The Israeli army stated in a report: "The 7th Brigade has expanded its operations in the Gaza Strip to the Khan Younis area and the outskirts of Deir al-Balah. The forces are eliminating terrorists and destroying combat complexes above and below ground."
The statement added: "In one of these complexes, the 603rd Battalion discovered dozens of rockets, launchers, and many anti-tank missiles." It continued: "Under intelligence guidance, the 603rd Battalion and the Yahalom unit found an underground tunnel path approximately one and a half kilometers long and destroyed it. Along the tunnel, an activity complex for Hamas terrorists was identified, where weapons, explosives, and equipment for long-term living were found, which were used by the terrorists who left the complex upon the forces' arrival."
