Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman revealed his reaction to his country's historic victory over Argentina in the "Qatar 2022" World Cup during an interview with Fox News. When asked by the network's chief political anchor Brett Baier if he was a sports fan, the Crown Prince replied, "Yes, definitely."
Baier then inquired, "Where were you when Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina in the World Cup and what was your reaction?" The Saudi Crown Prince responded, "I was with my family, with my brothers, their wives, and children watching the match. We wanted to emerge from the game with a respectable score, but we were amazed."
Saudi Arabia began its campaign in the "Qatar 2022" World Cup with a historic win against Argentina, ending 2-1.
The Crown Prince also discussed sports investment, which has begun to significantly contribute to the Kingdom's GDP. He mentioned that the planned integration of the LIV Golf series and the Professional Golf Association would represent a "change" for the sport of golf.
In the interview with Fox News, he expressed that he was not concerned about accusations of "sportswashing."
