The President of the National Electoral Authority in Algeria, Mohamed Sharfi, announced today, Thursday, the acceptance of 3 candidacy files and the rejection of 13 others for the presidential elections scheduled for September 7, 2024. Mohamed Sharfi stated that the candidacy file of Abdelmadjid Tebboune was accepted, with 482,533 individual signature forms submitted from voters distributed across 58 provinces and abroad. He noted that 416,320 forms were accepted, while 66,213 forms were rejected.
He declared that 18,600 individual signature forms were submitted on behalf of voters distributed across 58 provinces and abroad, with 18,095 of them accepted, 188 forms rejected (invalid), and 323 duplicates declared invalid.
The President of the National Electoral Authority added that the candidacy of Youssef Ouchich from the "Front of Socialist Forces" was also accepted, revealing that 1,257 forms were submitted, with 1,250 accepted and 7 rejected.
Additionally, the file of Chérif Hassani was accepted, with 87,586 individual signature forms submitted from voters across 50 provinces, of which 79,782 were accepted and 9,654 rejected. Furthermore, 2,021 forms were submitted for candidate Abdel Ali Chérif Hassani from 50 provinces, with 1,986 accepted and 35 rejected, while 2 forms were canceled along with 23 duplicate forms.
