This Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on military and civilian sites in southern Lebanon, resulting in a significant number of casualties and injuries. Among these strikes, one targeted a building in Mifdoun, leading to an unofficial toll from the Lebanese Ministry of Health reporting 5 Hezbollah members killed.
Following the widespread dissemination of this news, social media began circulating the name of Wafiq Safa, the head of Hezbollah's liaison and coordination unit, claiming he was killed in the Mifdoun strike. It is noted that Safa's name was previously mentioned in the assassination of Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukr, and he was arrested for his connection to the leaking of information about Shukr.
However, a media source close to Hezbollah denied this rumor, affirming that Safa is free and continuing his work as usual. In relation to the Mifdoun airstrike, Sheikh Sadiq Nablsi denied the news of Safa's death, confirming in a televised interview that he is in good health and fulfilling his jihadist role effectively.
