Drug Smuggling Network Busted by Security Forces

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division revealed that after receiving information from the special unit of the Judicial Police about a network smuggling drugs from the Bekaa Valley and distributing them in Beirut, as well as engaging in acts of "bullying" and "extortion," a force from the special unit set up a tight ambush in the areas of Kaslik and Halat on 20-9-2023. During a simultaneous operation, members of this network were arrested, identified as (M. A.), (H. K.), (M. H.), and (M. M.) of Syrian nationality, along with (W. H.) who is Lebanese. Authorities seized a military-grade pistol, quantities of heroin, cocaine, narcotic pills, hashish, mobile phones, and cash from them. It was found that two of them were wanted by the judiciary under various judicial warrants. The detainees, along with the seized items, were handed over to the relevant authority following the instructions of the competent judiciary.
