A village in Egypt witnessed a violent clash between two families, resulting in injuries as security forces intervened to disperse the fighting and impose a security cordon around the village. Egyptian authorities received reports of skirmishes between the two families in the Kihk Bahri village in the Fayoum governorate, triggered by vendetta disputes following the death of a girl from one family at the hands of young men from the other family, who burned her two months ago.
It was revealed that four young men set fire to the body of the girl, Jihad Shaaban Abdel Rahman, leading to her death. The security forces managed to apprehend the accused. Several weeks after the incident, conflicts reignited between the two families, escalating into clashes involving sticks and fireworks in an attempt to set homes and properties on fire.
Security agencies moved to the village and were able to control the situation, apprehending those responsible for the events and seizing the tools used. They also restricted entry and exit from the village until calm was restored, while ambulances rushed to transport the injured to hospitals.
