Israeli drones targeted a car near the Al-Hasbah roundabout in the city of Sidon, which had Hamas leader Samer Al-Haj from the Ain al-Hilweh camp inside it, who died immediately due to the strike. Two civilians, Naseem Nasser and Ayman Audah, who works at a nearby gas station, were injured and were taken to Al-Hamshari Hospital in Sidon. Security forces, ambulances, and civil defense rushed to the scene but faced difficulties accessing the area due to crowds of citizens, who were urged to stay away to allow authorities to carry out their work. The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health reported that the Israeli military airstrike on Sidon this evening resulted in the death of a Palestinian individual, while another Palestinian and a Lebanese person suffered minor injuries and were treated in the emergency department.
Immediately following the operation, a large crowd gathered, chanting "God is Great." The Ain al-Hilweh camp witnessed a wave of anger and condemnation following the assassination of Hamas leader and camp security chief Samer Al-Haj. An angry march took place in the camp, with dozens of its residents expressing their anger and denouncing the "ongoing assaults" by the Israeli army, while shouting support for Hamas.
