Egypt Enters Guinness World Records for Cancer Screening

Egypt has set a new record in the Guinness World Records by conducting early detection and treatment screenings for various cancers for 3,860 citizens in 480 minutes, averaging 8 screenings per minute. The Ministries of Health and Population, along with Social Solidarity in Egypt, launched the "Men Badri Aman" campaign yesterday, in collaboration with the Egyptian Society for Cervical Screening, across 9 governorates in the country for early detection and treatment of different cancers.

As part of the campaign, a new world record was established. Walid Osman, a judge for the Guinness World Records, stated that the record was set with a rate of 8 tests per minute for 5 types of cancer. The Ministry of Health received certificates for breaking 5 world records in early detection and treatment of cancers, including lung, colon, breast, liver, and prostate cancers, making it the largest global institution to set records in cancer treatment.

This announcement coincides with the remembrance of the presidential initiative's achievement for early detection and treatment of cancers in June 2023, which registered a new record for the largest cancer awareness initiative in the world, according to Guinness World Records. Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, announced the intensive "Men Badri Aman" campaign for women starting from age 18. This free campaign, sponsored by the Ministries of Health and Population and Social Solidarity, in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for Cervical Screening, aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and the campaign's objectives through the participation of 6,000 social pioneers from a total of 15,000 for sustainable development, facilitating better services for citizens, and encouraging them to engage in medical and social campaigns and monitor their health.
