Egyptian security authorities have revealed details about the kidnapping of a popular singer and the theft of his money and gold jewelry by unknown assailants. The incident began when authorities received a report about the singer being kidnapped while driving his car along with a friend in the Minya governorate, south of Cairo, by individuals claiming to be police officers. They stopped his vehicle while he was on his way to sell gold jewelry and abducted him.
Investigations revealed that the singer's driver was an accomplice in the kidnapping and theft, having informed other associates about the singer's intention to sell gold jewelry and shared his route with them. Following this, the singer was stopped, robbed, and kidnapped.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry stated that six individuals were involved in the crime, four of whom had criminal records, including the driver's accomplice. It was added that after legal measures were taken, the suspects were arrested and, when confronted, admitted to collaborating with the singer's driver in committing the crime.
The accused confessed to selling the stolen jewelry to a gold shop owner, and based on their directions, a monetary amount obtained from the sale of the stolen gold jewelry was recovered. Legal procedures were then initiated, and the prosecution was notified to investigate the incident further.
