A number of lawyers have filed a lawsuit to cancel and withdraw the film "The Atheist," and to stop its screening on all various media platforms. Lawyers Ahmed Ashour, Eslam Abu El-Az, Mariam Atef, Mahmoud Younis, Ahmed Emad, Hamad Alam, Nadia Abdel Hamid, and Samah Mohamed submitted "a lawsuit to halt the appearance of the film on visual and audio screens, or social media pages, while obliging Ahmed El-Sobky, owner of El-Sobky Production Company, to cover the expenses and legal fees."

The lawyers stated in their lawsuit that "the film reinforces the idea of associating partners with God among the youth of the nation, who are the builders of the future and the fruit of Egypt's progress and prosperity. It is clear that this film establishes a relentless war against the religion of Islam and the youth of the nation."

Attacks on the film "The Atheist," starring actor Ahmed Hatem and written by media figure Ibrahim Eissa, continue in Egypt, while critics and filmmakers assert that the events are an attempt to dismiss reason. The film has dominated social media and has become a topic of conversation due to its ongoing crises, prompting activists to launch a campaign to boycott the film due to its story and creators.
