Minister of Labor in the caretaker government, Mustafa Bayram, visited the Grand Serail on Wednesday, where he met with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati. He briefed him on the ongoing communication between the Ministry of Labor and the Housing Bank. After the meeting, Bayram stated, "I informed the Prime Minister about the communication taking place between the Ministry of Labor and the Housing Bank, given the structural relationship related to deposit certificates. We have increased the value of these certificates to protect Lebanese labor on one hand and to regulate foreign labor on the other. Additionally, we also contribute to increasing the revenues of the Housing Bank, which are converted into loans related to housing." He added, "Prime Minister Mikati endorsed the step to allocate loans related to renovations, especially due to the Israeli aggressions on southern Lebanon, giving them priority."
