US forces stationed in northeastern Syria have brought new weapons to their bases, which have recently been targeted in attacks. Three large cargo planes arrived carrying weapons, equipment, and advanced air defense systems, including two aircraft on Tuesday.
On Wednesday evening, an advanced weapon system designed to intercept suicide drones was tested at the Kharab Al-Jeir base near the town of Rmelan in northeastern Syria. A video published by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on YouTube showed the advanced weapon during its launch test against targets after its arrival at the base.
This step comes after the Kharab Al-Jeir base was targeted by a drone that hit the base on August 9, resulting in the Pentagon acknowledging on Tuesday evening that eight of its personnel were injured due to the attack. The Kharab Al-Jeir base, established in 2014, is one of the first and most important US bases in Syria, where military reinforcements and soldiers gather before being distributed to other bases.
