Russian Defense: Pentagon Engaged in Biological Espionage in Iraq and Afghanistan

The Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that the Pentagon has tasked itself with biological espionage on the territories of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as targeting China, Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. This was announced by General Igor Kirillov, commander of the radiation, chemical, and biological defense forces of the Russian Armed Forces, during a press conference this morning. He continued: "We have materials confirming that the U.S. military administration was charged with monitoring the biological situation in the territories of Iraq and Afghanistan adjacent to China, Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia."

Kirillov mentioned that one of the Pentagon's tasks is what is called "biological espionage," analyzing the epidemiological situation along the borders of geopolitical opponents and in areas proposed for military unit deployments. According to him, the documents available to the Russian Ministry of Defense confirm the necessity of attracting personnel from organizations contracted by the Pentagon into leadership positions, with fieldwork supposed to be entrusted to local specialists who could interact with the necessary ministries.

He added: "However, at the same time, it is recommended to limit the traces linking back to the contractor and to undertake short trips to Afghanistan and Iraq from the Dubai office only when necessary." According to him, to avoid accusations against the Pentagon, some projects were carried out under the guise of the U.S. Department of State. He stated: "Attention should be paid to the State Department's research program in Afghanistan, which included studying agents causing particularly dangerous diseases of economic importance, such as tularemia, anthrax, and foot-and-mouth disease, in addition to collecting biological samples in the country, examining them, and sending them to the United States."
