The Algerian Consulate General in Switzerland issued a statement today, Wednesday, regarding the fire that broke out at its premises. The consulate stated in a message published on its official website that "the fire, which was reported by some Swiss media yesterday, partially broke out in an annex of the Algerian Permanent Mission to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva." It noted that "the fire caused only limited material damage, and confirmed that its services continue to operate normally." The consulate stated that it "continues to receive its citizens and serve them in a manner that meets their needs and concerns." Swiss media reported yesterday, Tuesday, that a fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor of the Algerian Consulate General in Geneva. They added that firefighters evacuated the building without any injuries being reported, indicating that an investigation will be necessary to determine the cause of the incident.
