Kuwait will witness three astronomical phenomena during the current week, including the conjunction of the giant planet Jupiter with the Moon, according to a local scientific center specialized in observing such phenomena. The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Monday that the Al-Ajiri Scientific Center indicated the sky over Kuwait will be adorned with these three phenomena in the first week of July.
The center's statement noted that astronomy enthusiasts will be able to "see the conjunction of the Moon with the planet Mars with the naked eye in the eastern horizon of the country during the early hours of Tuesday, from when the Moon rises until just before sunrise."
It mentioned that on Wednesday morning, "the sky will witness the conjunction of the giant planet Jupiter with the Moon, and residents of Kuwait will be able to observe this phenomenon with the naked eye towards the eastern horizon after midnight until just before sunrise."
Additionally, on Sunday, Kuwait will experience "the arrival of the smallest planet in the solar system, Mercury, to its closest point to the Moon, which will be in a waxing crescent phase. This phenomenon can be seen with the naked eye towards the western horizon of Kuwait's sky from sunset until 8 PM."
The center specializes in calculating astronomical calendars, timings, and moon phases, providing scientific consultations in astronomy and space, and organizing conferences and astronomical scientific events, according to its website.
