Important Warning from the Syrian Ministry of Defense

The Syrian Ministry of Defense warned in a statement about fake accounts of senior army officers on social media. The statement said: "The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces confirms that all accounts on social media under the names of senior officers are forged and fictitious, created by certain suspicious foreign entities." It added: "Certain suspicious foreign entities, with ulterior motives, are creating accounts on social media, particularly on Facebook, using the names of senior officers of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, such as the page of General Abdul Karim Ibrahim, Chief of the General Staff, and the page of Major General Kamal Hassan, Head of Military Intelligence." The statement continued: "The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces assures that all these pages are counterfeit, and there are no accounts on any social media platform for any officers of the General Command." The statement concluded: "The only platform representing the military institution in Syria with its news and communiqués is the platform of the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic only."
