The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the ongoing efforts by the specialized units in the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes across various regions of Lebanon, and as a result of thorough monitoring, the Information Branch managed to track down a motorcycle theft gang operating in the city of Sidon and its surroundings. Consequently, the relevant units in the branch began their field and investigative procedures to identify and arrest the gang members. Through extensive inquiries and investigations, they managed to pinpoint a location in Sidon where the stolen motorcycles were being stored, in addition to identifying the suspects, all of whom have prior offenses related to theft, creating disturbances, and drug use.

On the dates of May 31, 2024, June 4, and June 6, 2024, following careful surveillance, patrols from the branch executed well-planned ambushes in Sidon, resulting in the arrest of the three main suspects and the seizure of a black motorcycle from the first individual. The specified location was also raided, leading to the arrest of its owner. The first suspect was found in possession of a military handgun with three usable bullets. Upon searching the premises, three stolen motorcycles, parts for motorcycles (including "carinage," lights, mirrors, etc.), and painting tools were seized.

During the investigation, the three main suspects confessed to their involvement in theft operations of motorcycles from Sidon and its vicinity, storing them in the location owned by (M.M.), who was aware of the theft activities, and altering the color of the stolen motorcycles. The owner also confessed to the charges against him. Legal measures were taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant authority based on the directives of the competent judiciary."
