The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that "Israeli occupation forces have turned Al-Shifa complex into a military barracks, gathering dozens of corpses at Al-Shifa hospital and transferring them to an unknown location." It warned of "a looming health catastrophe inside Al-Shifa Medical Complex, demanding the opening of the Rafah crossing to allow for the flow of aid, especially in light of communication outages in the Gaza Strip, reiterating its warning of the serious consequences of this."
It continued: "The occupation's lies regarding Al-Shifa hospital are a leap in the air to justify the genocidal war against Gaza and its hospitals. Once again, the Israeli occupation army presents false scenarios and fabricated narratives against hospitals, this time targeting Al-Shifa Medical Complex. These foolish scenarios are part of the ongoing incitement and deception campaign that has been promoted for many years, presented to the public as facts, aimed at justifying the genocidal war and its continuous crimes against hospitals and against the innocent, including children and women, as well as against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and are a failed attempt to evade any forthcoming accountability or legal repercussions."
It added: "We affirm that all hospitals provide only healing services for patients and the injured, and the occupation's claims about the existence of control centers and leadership for Palestinian factions or weapons are mere leaps in the air and falsehoods that deceive no one."
It noted that: "The Palestinian Ministry of Health had repeatedly called upon all institutions, organizations, and international bodies to form technical teams to visit and examine all hospitals in order to refute the occupation's false and incendiary narrative it has been propagating for years. We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the safety of our medical staff, our injured, our patients, and all displaced individuals trapped within the walls of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and we warn against any harm to them. We also demand that all countries of the world exert pressure to open the Rafah crossing to allow for the entry of medical aid and fuel supplies to these hospitals as part of their resumption and return to operation, as these 'Israeli' ploys aim to destroy the health sector entirely, depriving 2.4 million people of services, thus denying them the right to live and survive to achieve the declared goal of the Israeli occupation to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip to Egyptian territories."
