The Strong Lebanon bloc held its regular meeting chaired by MP Gebran Bassil, discussing in detail the developments in light of Israel's threats to launch aggression against Lebanon. The bloc called in a statement for "all Lebanese, regardless of their parties and affiliations, to recognize the seriousness of the moment Lebanon is experiencing, to overcome divisions, and to show national solidarity in the face of Israeli threats." The bloc commended the positions of countries striving to curb the escalation, including France and the brotherly Arab states. It also praised the stances of several Lebanese leaders working to prevent strife, particularly Mr. Walid Jumblatt, who contained the inflammatory rhetoric following the crime in Majdal Shams. The statement continued that "the dangerous moment our country is going through requires overcoming differences, however significant, and focusing on internal Lebanese matters, rejecting any political investment in the strife desired by the enemy for Lebanon. From here, the efforts of the bloc continue to stop the collapse and build a safety net internally, starting with the reconstitution of authority, primarily through electing a President of the Republic."
