Open Strike in all Branches of the Traffic Management Authority

A statement was issued by the employees of the Traffic Management Authority as follows: "Given that we have received only a small part of our salary, and currently suffer from a delay in the payment of the remaining part, which includes a fourfold increase and a transport allowance of 450,000, similar to public sector employees, under the pretext of our exceptional status as employees in a public institution and the different course of transactions related to our salaries and their accessories. We, in the Traffic Management Authority, have always suffered from this regrettable discrimination between public sector workers, knowing that the pressure of transactions in our institution is huge and the resources it brings into the state treasury are significant, yet we are always met with unparalleled disdain for our efforts, leading to the continuous delay of our entitlements and the obstruction of our affairs at every opportunity.

Since we have been deprived of various grants for years, knowing that our internal system explicitly mentions them, not to mention the educational and actual service allowances that are not even implemented, this contributes to the frustration of employees and enhances their sense of injustice. They are always required to perform their duties perfectly, yet their rights are blatantly violated. In addition, since the authority has begun collecting service fees, and since all the work and effort in the collection process falls on us as employees of the authority, we demand that the state find a legal formula that allows the employee to receive a fixed 'fair' percentage of what the authority collects from the newly approved service fees, the mechanism for disbursing which has yet to be clarified. We remind you that several institutions and ministries have resorted to this solution to support their workers amid the collapse of salary values, increased taxes, and the cost of living, and to ensure the smooth operation and continuity of work in official departments.

Given that the poor organization of work and the absence of decent conditions and environment affect the dignity of the employee and the citizen alike every day and every hour. This is entirely unacceptable. Therefore, we announce a forced work stoppage starting from Monday, 2023/11/20, and the declaration of an open strike until all our demands are met. We confirm that we have found no other recourse, as our demands and appeals have been clear and numerous, and we have repeatedly responded to the calls to continue performing our duties, but circumstances dictate otherwise. Is it reasonable to ask us to work under all this pressure and misery for just $50? In the end, if you want to be obeyed, request what is feasible."
