In the latest developments of the most controversial case in Egypt recently, the accused Karim Selim, known as "the Gathering Killer," made new confessions after being confronted with the evidence found in his apartment in the Fifth Settlement. Security forces discovered video cameras placed in several locations within the isolated room where he killed his victims, recording in 4k quality, as well as finding other cameras in his car.
During the confrontation with the accused while being interrogated in case number 296 of 2024, Administrative South Port Said, he confessed that he filmed his crimes of killing and torturing girls and then streamed them live on "dark" websites to earn money.
The accused confirmed that he also indulged in his sadistic desires through the same websites, selling the footage of his entire crimes and showing the bodies of victims through the cameras in his car during live broadcasts. He stated in his interrogation that he accessed dark websites since his time in America, after facing significant financial difficulties and earning substantial money from those views.
He also confessed to selling other videos depicting sadistic practices and the use of sexual stimulants during his crimes, explaining that he was careful not to show the victims' faces or his own to avoid identification.
It is noteworthy that Egyptian authorities arrested a woman named "Hanan," who turned out to be bringing girls to the Gathering Killer. The accused explained that the close friend of "Shahd," Hanan's daughter, was one of the killer's victims. She confessed that she received financial amounts from him in exchange for luring suitable girls to fulfill his desires.
It is worth mentioning that security forces arrested "the Gathering Killer," accused of killing three women and dumping their bodies in desert areas in the governorates of Port Said and Ismailia last May.
