A severe weather system is centered over the Black Sea with very low pressure readings of 975 hPa, leading to unstable weather across vast areas surrounding the Black Sea, extending through Turkey to the eastern Mediterranean. The system began to affect Lebanon in the early hours of the morning with strong winds, and its impact will continue until before noon on Tuesday. This weather system is expected to bring thunderstorms that will become heavy between tonight and tomorrow morning, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures on Monday and light snowfall at elevations between 1400 to 1500 meters.
In conjunction with the weather system affecting Lebanon, the meteorological department at Rafic Hariri International Airport warned of "increased wave heights, the potential for billboards and solar panels being blown away due to strong winds, as well as the risk of flash floods and soil erosion." The department stated that "the low-pressure system impacting Lebanon is currently centered north of Italy and will be accompanied by cold air masses alongside strong winds reaching up to 95 km/h, especially in northern regions."
It was noted that the system will bring rain, snow, and thunderstorms, and its effects will continue until Monday night to Tuesday morning, gradually receding to return to stable autumn weather.
