Coinciding with the marches that swept across the British capital, London, and other cities yesterday in protest against the violence campaigns targeting "migrants," Black individuals, and Muslim citizens over recent days, Elon Musk made another controversial statement. The American billionaire shared on his X account last night two images: one showing a group of Black men staring at a blonde girl, and another depicting bearded individuals in Afghan and Pakistani attire (implying they are Muslim) surrounding a British police officer. He sarcastically remarked that these images could land you three years in prison in the United Kingdom, referring to the strict measures previously announced by British authorities to be applied against anyone promoting hatred and inciting violence on social media, in an attempt to ease the tensions the country has recently experienced.

This came after the owner of the popular tweeting platform has consistently criticized Britain over the past few days for what he described as attempts to tighten the grip on X and freedom of expression. He hinted in one of his tweets that a civil war is imminent in Britain, which provoked irritation from the government and various British political and media figures. Last week, Britain experienced difficult times, with riots spreading across different regions and some attacks recorded on migrant shelters and even mosques, alongside businesses being burned and looted.
