The Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, received an emergency aid shipment from the World Health Organization to Lebanon weighing "32 tons of medical supplies and medicines designated for treating war injuries," as part of efforts to enhance the readiness of the health sector to face any potential escalation in the Israeli aggression against Lebanon. This event took place in the presence of the WHO representative in Lebanon, Dr. Abdel-Nasser Abou Bakr. Concurrently, Al-Abyad noted that "preparedness is a fundamental part of what we are doing to ensure we are present, which is a natural act reflecting our duties towards our community." Meanwhile, the head of the Private Hospitals Syndicate, Suleiman Haroun, confirmed through "Lebanon Al-Kabir" that he has increased the stock of medical supplies as much as financial capacities allow, sufficient for approximately three months in case the war expands in a conventional manner similar to 2006. He stated: "As long as there is no bombing of hospitals, in the short term, we are capable of enduring, but there is no hope for any emergency plan to succeed if the war resembles the brutality taking place in Gaza."
