The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced in a statement that "in the context of ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese areas, information was received about unidentified individuals storing drugs inside an apartment in the Sahra al-Shweifat area and distributing them to dealers."
It added: "As a result, the relevant units began their field and investigative procedures to identify the individuals in question and arrest them. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify the apartment used for storing drugs, as well as the identity of the involved parties, including a certain N. R. (born in 1990, Syrian nationality).
On June 11, 2024, after careful surveillance, one of the branch's patrols carried out a raid on the apartment in the Sahra al-Shweifat area and arrested the mentioned individual inside. Upon searching her and the apartment, the following was seized: /6/ bags containing marijuana weighing approximately /145/ grams - /6/ envelopes containing hashish weighing approximately /135/ grams - /15/ plastic containers with a white substance each weighing about /3.5/ grams - /11/ envelopes labeled "buzz extra" each weighing about /2.7/ grams - /31/ envelopes labeled "net extra 0.5" each weighing about /2.9/ grams - /14/ envelopes labeled "gram Ajnabi 0.5" each weighing about /2.6/ grams - /21/ envelopes labeled "1 g net al-Hajj" each weighing about /3.5/ grams - a sum of money and mobile phones.
During the investigation, she admitted to the charges against her regarding her and her husband - who is currently at large - storing drugs inside their apartment in the Sahra al-Shweifat area and distributing them to dealers. The necessary legal measures were taken against her, and she was placed with the seized items under the relevant authority based on judicial indication, and work is ongoing to arrest the second accomplice."
