Social media in Morocco was shaken by the news of the death of a young woman from Beni Mellal who gained fame for her activity on TikTok. Activists widely circulated the news of the TikToker whose body was found inside a villa owned by a wealthy individual in the city, who was previously a known politician and considered one of the notables. Sources indicated that the victim was invited to a party hosted by the billionaire at his palace, which ended with her death under still unclear circumstances, noting that she was reportedly in the company of a group known for attending private parties.
Some accused her of "debauchery," based on judgments made from the videos she filmed and shared on TikTok. While some activists suggested that the death might have been due to an overdose of drugs, her mother denied this claim in statements to local media, asserting that it was nothing but baseless rumors. The mother stated that she found her daughter lying on the ground alongside two other girls, who confirmed to her that the young woman was still alive at the time, despite her being deceased.
Judicial custody
According to available information, the public prosecutor decided to place the former politician and parliamentarian and the two girls under judicial custody at the Beni Mellal security headquarters, in order to question them regarding the circumstances surrounding the young woman's death. This comes as authorities await the results of the autopsy, which will reveal the true causes of death inside the billionaire's residence. The public prosecutor at the Beni Mellal court has also instructed the judicial police to further investigate this case.
