The family of the late artist Ely Chehade stated in a statement that "in light of the television episode of The Stage program that aired on the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation on November 24, the family of the late artist Ely Chehade wishes to clarify the following:
First: In its effort to appreciate initiatives aimed at professionally showcasing the heritage of our great artists in a manner that elevates their artistic level and brings a moral and educational addition in this field, the family wishes to clarify that it had no involvement in the preparation or content of the television episode of The Stage that aired on LBC on November 24, which included several inaccuracies and did not shed light on his history or contributions. They also express regret for the inaccurate quotes made by some guests attributed to the late artist, while respecting and valuing all esteemed guests. Additionally, the family wishes to clarify that it had requested from the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation, after communicating with the program's producers, that no episode be dedicated to discussing the late artist since this program does not align with his artistic trajectory.
Second: The family urges anyone wishing to mention the late artist to avoid simplification and the dissemination of incorrect information, or to be swept into producing media material primarily aimed at filling a media void. Therefore, the family prefers not to engage with mentions of the late artist unless suitable, previously agreed-upon conditions are met.
Third: The family warns against the use of Ely Chehade's songs and artistic legacy without prior permission under legal liability, especially those that have not yet been published, and calls to avoid distorting this legacy given its artistic and national values.
The family thanks everyone who is keen on preserving Lebanon's artistic heritage, hoping it remains a reference for future generations."
