Title: MP Fadlallah: We Must Stand with the Palestinian People

Today, Friday, President of the Parliament Nabih Berri received MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc, at Ain el-Tineh, where discussions were held on current general conditions, political developments, and legislative issues. Following the meeting, MP Fadlallah stated: "I discussed with President Berri a number of topics that we are following, both at the political and legislative levels. However, the main event that imposes itself is the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip; this aggression has been resumed by the occupation army with its usual brutality to break the will of the Palestinian people and impose its conditions on the resistance and this steadfast, resistant people. Undoubtedly, this aggression continues to achieve goals raised by the Israeli enemy, but it will not be able to reach them because there is a steadfast people and a firm resistance."

He added: "It is true that it can kill, destroy, commit massacres, and target children, women, and civilians in general, but in all this brutality, it will not achieve those goals. If, God forbid, it were to reach them and achieve even a part of them, it could leave repercussions on the entire region, including our country Lebanon, which is greatly affected by these developments and faces major dangers."

He stated: "Therefore, the higher national interest in Lebanon requires working by all means to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals, as this does not remain confined to a specific geographic area. The Palestinian people are under attack, and the Zionist entity is the aggressor; we in Lebanon are also under attack, and this Zionist entity is the one that attacks, lacking any legal or humanitarian principles. This was also discussed with State President Nabih Berri, who reiterated that this enemy violates international resolutions and attacks even during the truce, targeting the army, villages, and the outskirts of villages, without adhering to any standard or international law, neither in Gaza nor in Lebanon. We, in Lebanon, are in a position to defend our country, to exercise our legitimate right to defend our people and our villages, and we are all concerned with standing alongside the Palestinian people and supporting them to win this war, regardless of the sacrifices made by this people, whom we see today as a legendary people in every sense of the word."

He continued: "Therefore, at the Lebanese level, we are concerned to face this challenge and to be vigilant and always ready to confront any possibility and any danger threatening our country. No one should think that Lebanon is immune from Israeli targeting, and the developments in Gaza cannot fail to affect the situation in Lebanon."

Fadlallah indicated that he also discussed "with the president the situation in the border region during the period of Israeli attacks or during the truce and what could happen in light of the new developments in Gaza, and I informed him about the steps we and the Southern Council have taken to stabilize the residents and provide them with support, including what we are doing as Hezbollah in terms of compensations that we have initiated and accomplished much in this area to stabilize the residents in their land, along with subsequent steps, and also what the government has decided based on the communication we have had and the adjustments we requested due to the significant differences from what was previously planned and what the prices of the national currency have reached."

He added: "This file will be followed up as it is a fundamental and vital issue because the steadfastness of the people of the south and the endurance of the displaced people in the face of difficulties is for the sake of all Lebanon, it is not limited to the south. When we confront the enemy at the border and repel it, we protect Lebanon and all Lebanese people. Today, we see that the resistance in its performance at the borders has protected civilians in the border region and also protects all civilians in Lebanon, and the Zionist entity does not dare to carry out a wide-scale attack on Lebanon, even though it wishes and tries to do so from time to time, but its fear of the resistance's reaction and the consequences of any broad attack makes it retreat and carry out the assaults we see along the border line. Thus, we are all working to stabilize the residents and support them, which is the least obligation of both the government and anyone who addresses this issue."

He stated: "We see this matter as the least duty for us to stand alongside our people who offer their all and sacrifice their lives; no compensation can match this sacrifice. It is true that we try to work to strengthen steadfastness on one hand and repair houses and rebuild infrastructure, but these people have given their blood, their children, and their properties for the sake of the oppressed in Gaza and for the defense of their country."

He concluded: "In addition to these topics, we touched upon a number of political issues related to national entitlements. As we expressed together, we and State President always need national understandings in Lebanon. We always need national entitlements to stem from national will and from our collective vision for the Lebanese interest in the approaches, away from partisan, sectarian, or personal calculations of anyone. God willing, these entitlements are under follow-up between us and President Nabih Berri to reach the desired outcomes."

The President also reviewed political developments and legislative affairs during his meeting with Democratic Gathering MP Akram Shehayeb. President Berri also received Judicial Police Chief Brigadier General Ziad Qaid Bey. On another note, the president received a congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence from his Tunisian counterpart Ibrahim Bou Durbal.
