Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati conducted a series of diplomatic and political communications in light of the emerging emergency situations and the recurring Israeli threats against Lebanon. He emphasized during the communications that "the solution remains in achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and the full implementation of UN resolution 1701, to eliminate the futile cycle of violence and avoid escalation that complicates the situation further and leads to dire consequences." Mikati pointed out that "the government's position yesterday condemned all forms of violence against civilians, and a sustainable ceasefire on all fronts is the only possible solution to prevent further human losses and to avoid exacerbating the situation on the ground." He stated that "the Lebanese position is understood by all of Lebanon's friends, and communications are ongoing in various international, European, and Arab directions to protect Lebanon and avert dangers." Mikati was also briefed by Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib on the ongoing communications in this context. He conducted a series of calls with relevant ministers as part of the regular follow-up on their ministries' affairs.
