Car Thief and Counterfeit Currency Dealer: His Fate!

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Saturday, stating: "As part of the follow-up conducted by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest dangerous wanted individuals in all Lebanese areas, and through extensive investigations and meticulous monitoring carried out by the Information Branch, they were able to identify the location of one of the dangerous wanted individuals in the Beqaa region, named: M.K. (born in 1987, Syrian)."

The statement continued, "He has a criminal record for crimes of kidnapping and drugs, and he is wanted for car theft. He is a dangerous person and is always armed with an assault rifle and a hand grenade." It added, "As a result, a strict plan was put in place to arrest him."

The statement highlighted that "on July 11, 2024, after careful observation and monitoring, the special force of the branch executed a well-planned ambush in the vicinity of the Eyyat intersection, resulting in the arrest of the aforementioned individual while he was in a black Tahoe SUV without plates. He was found in possession of a loaded Kalashnikov rifle, a military pouch with three magazines ready for use, a hand grenade, an amount of $8,500 in counterfeit $100 bills, a quantity of cocaine, forged official documents, and three mobile phones."

It added, "During the investigation, he confessed to trafficking counterfeit currency and stealing cars. He also admitted that he previously set fire to a car and a warehouse in the western Beqaa region and that he moves around with forged identities. He stated that he uses drugs."

The statement concluded: "Legal proceedings were initiated against him, and he was detained along with the seized items according to the directives of the judiciary."
