The military administration of Kharkiv Oblast announced that Ukrainian forces plan to use devices equipped with warheads containing radioactive materials to attack the Kursk and Zaporizhia nuclear power plants. It clarified in a statement on its Telegram channel that this information was derived from confessions of Ukrainian prisoners. It added that the Ukrainian leadership intends to launch a strike on nuclear facilities in Russia, specifically the Kursk and Zaporizhia plants in Kurchatov and Enerhodar.
Meanwhile, Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of pro-Russian working groups in Mykolaiv Oblast, confirmed that this attack planned by Kyiv is under the supervision of Western intelligence, particularly British intelligence. He also noted the gathering of several Western journalists in Sumy and Zaporizhia amid preparations by Kyiv to launch an attack on the nuclear facilities in Kursk and Zaporizhia, as reported by Russian media.
If this accusation proves to be true, it could push the conflict to dangerous thresholds, especially considering that Russia possesses thousands of nuclear warheads, which could open the gates of hell. As of 2019, Russia and the United States held more than 90% of the world's total nuclear weapons, numbering 13,865.
