The Minister of Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Halabi, stated that the greatest achievement in these circumstances is that we successfully completed the official exams. He said, "We resist through education and will continue our work; this year we changed the way questions are posed."
Al-Halabi confirmed in an interview via Voice of Lebanon that there has been no leak of the questions, stating, "What happened concerning the chemistry competition is under administrative investigation, which has not concluded, and a report will be issued, based on which I will take action." He added, "There was absolutely no leak before the distribution of the competitions, and this matter will also be subject to legal pursuit. We are working in impossible times, and justice was served with the multiple-choice questions."
He pointed out that a group is working to undermine all sectors, including education, but we do not pay attention to this issue. Al-Halabi also mentioned that he authorized the head of the examining committees, Emad Al-Ashkar, to travel to the United States, where he performed his duties and the official exams were not affected by his absence. He revealed that the ministry is in the process of revising the curricula, hoping to complete this within a year.
