The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On 25-10-2023, in the town of Dweir, unknown individuals entered a citizen's home, bound the workers there, smashed their phones, and stole a rifle from inside. They also stole an electric car and fled to an unknown location. Consequently, the information division was tasked with conducting field and investigative procedures to identify and arrest the perpetrators. Through inquiries and investigations, the division was able to identify them, including one identified as: • M. R. (born in 1998, Lebanese). On 8-12-2023, after careful surveillance, one of the division's patrols managed to arrest the aforementioned in the Dweir area. Upon searching him, a quantity of hashish and counterfeit currency of the $100 denomination was found in his possession. During the investigation, he confessed to his involvement, along with others, in the robbery of the aforementioned house and electric car, stating that they divided the stolen items among themselves. He added that the counterfeit currency found in his possession was intended for circulation. Legal action was taken against him, and he was handed over with the seized items to the relevant authority based on judicial orders. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other suspects involved in the robbery."
