Shipping Companies Temporarily Suspend Traffic in the Red Sea

Leading oil company "British Petroleum" announced on Monday that it has temporarily suspended all transportation operations through the Red Sea after attacks launched by "Ansar Allah," which controls most of Yemen, earlier this week. The company stated in a statement: "The safety and security of our employees and those working on our behalf are a priority for British Petroleum." Additionally, Taiwanese container shipping company "Evergreen" announced that it has decided to cease the acceptance of Israeli goods effective immediately and instructed its container ships to suspend navigation in the Red Sea until further notice. Evergreen added that vessels currently in the regional services of Red Sea ports will sail to nearby safe waters and wait for further instructions, while container ships scheduled to transit through the Red Sea will be redirected around the Cape of Good Hope to continue their journeys to the ports.
