As a result of the daily monitoring by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking operations in various regions of Lebanon, information was obtained regarding a network involved in the storage, distribution, and promotion of drugs in the areas of Naameh, Khaldeh, and Ouzai. Consequently, the specialized units began their field and intelligence measures to uncover the identities of the network members and arrest them. Following extensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify the suspects as follows:
– A. S. (born in 1997, Lebanese) distributor
– A. K. (born in 2001, Syrian) promoter
– K. S. (born in 1990, Syrian) promoter
On December 4 and 5, 2023, after careful monitoring, the branch patrols were able to raid the first suspect's house in Naameh and arrest him inside. His vehicle, a gray Nissan Sunny, was seized. The second and third suspects were arrested in the act in Khaldeh while they were promoting drugs from a black Kia Rio that was also seized.
During the searches of the suspects and the two vehicles, the following was confiscated:
- 17 envelopes containing hashish weighing approximately 170 g
- 11 bags containing marijuana weighing approximately 271 g
- 51 envelopes containing base material weighing approximately 155 g
- 87 envelopes containing cocaine weighing approximately 316 g
- 59 envelopes containing cocaine weighing approximately 271 g
- 4 yellow narcotic pills
- 2 handguns, 3 magazines, and 19 live rounds
- 5 mobile phones and cash
During the investigation, the first suspect confessed to storing and distributing drugs to promoters, including the second and third suspects, using his seized vehicle. The second and third suspects admitted to promoting drugs to a large number of clients along the Ouzai - Khaldeh route using the seized Kia. They also confessed to receiving the quantity of drugs intended for promotion from the first suspect. Legal action was taken against them, and they were detained with the confiscated items at the relevant authority based on the judicial order.
