As 2023 nears its end, the predictions of the French seer Nostradamus have resurfaced, offering the public a glimpse into what the coming months may hold. According to a series of prophecies in his 1555 book "Les Prophéties," Nostradamus made numerous predictions about the future, although most of them are open to various interpretations. While Nostradamus's forecasts are highly ambiguous, the interpretations drawn by astrologers reading his works suggest that 2024 will seemingly be a year full of excitement.
**War with China**
It should be noted that the French seer did not create any precise calendar of upcoming events. Instead, the "predictions" attributed to him are merely interpretations of texts (a series of poems) he wrote in his 1555 work "Centuries." One of these texts begins with a vision of "combat and naval battles," stating: "The red foe will become pale with fear / What puts the great ocean in awe." Some interpreters have seen this as a reference to China and a potential maritime confrontation, while others have extended their interpretations to suggest that NATO might intervene.
**The Throne of King Charles is Threatened**
Nostradamus theorizes that the throne of King Charles is at risk and has indicated in his verses a "King of the Isles," who he claims will experience a controversial divorce and will ultimately be "ousted by force." Moreover, he stated that this ruler's power will be taken by "a person without any royal mark." In a book published in 2006, Mario Reading, a bestselling interpreter of Nostradamus's texts, suggested that this excerpt refers to King Charles being forced to abdicate due to "ongoing attacks against him and his second wife." He also proposed that Harry, a person who "has no royal mark," might take the crown instead of his brother William, the current heir. Interestingly, since Reading's book was published, Harry has stepped down from his role as a royal. In other words, he currently "has no royal mark" at all.
**Climate Disaster**
Most of us recognize that the world is facing a climate crisis, especially since 2023 has seen a series of devastating natural disasters. However, Nostradamus predicted all this centuries ago, warning that things would significantly worsen. In one of his texts, he foretold that "the dry land will become drier, and there will be great floods." He also anticipated a "very great famine due to a polluted wave," which some interpreted as meaning that a tsunami would strike agriculture, leading to widespread famine.
**A New Pope**
Pope Francis is 86 years old and has recently suffered from a series of health issues, so it is not surprising to speculate that the Catholic Church may soon need to search for a new pope. In fact, this is reportedly what Nostradamus predicted when he wrote: "Through the death of the aged pontiff / A Roman will be elected in good age." However, for anyone who believes that a dynamic young alternative might not be a bad thing, the seer added a warning. He claimed that the new leader "will weaken his chair" and will remain pope for a long time, according to Sky HISTORY.
As with all these prophecies, the questions raised far outnumber the answers provided. While logic suggests that Nostradamus's claims could apply to nearly anything, many believe there are connections between his predictions and major historical events.
